This new and exciting road cycling holiday is a fascinating ride into the remote and rarely visited Andes of Venezuela. Located in the north-west of Venezuela we will be cycling through a part of the Andes that is definitely ‘off the tourist trail’. Accompanied by eminent road cycling specialist and traveller, Alan Baker, this is a challenging cycling holiday with lots of hairpin descents and testing ascents to cycle, including the climb to Paso del Aguila (4007m/13,146ft). Staying in comfortable hosterias, we can be sure of an enthusiastic reception from local people unused to meeting ‘gringo’ cyclists. No ordinary cycle ride, our road cycling journey through the Andes of Venezuela will delight regular cycle enthusiasts with a taste for adventure and Sportiva cyclists alike.

ROAD ADVENTURE. This trip is aimed at regular, fit road cyclists with a thirst for adventure in a rarely cycled part of the world. Although daily distances are not great with over 13,500m/44,300ft of ascent and no vehicle support it presents an obvious challenge. Suitable for road bikes, a luggage transfer service is provided and we stay in friendly hotels and hosterias along the way. Average daily distance 78 km/48 miles.
