A new road cycling adventure holiday from Chiang Mai in the north of Thailand out of the mountains and across the plains to Bangkok. From the northern city of Chiang Mai, home to hilltribes, elephants and 300 temples, our cycling route takes us out of the mountains and south as we cycle on quiet backroads to Bangkok. Covering almost 1000 km/621 miles, this new KE road cycling classic leads into the seldom-visited heart of Thailand, as we cycle through a landscape of teak forest and rice paddies. Cycling through lots of timeless towns and villages, including the former capital of Sukothai, we will encounter friendly people, colourful markets and hidden temples. A chance to experience and cycle the true soul of Thailand!
Ride Guide
ROAD ADVENTURE. Primarily following good quality tarmac roads and quiet minor roads, this is a trip suitable for regular cyclists with a reasonable level of fitness. A Road or Touring bike is required for this trip. There are a few short climbs at the beginning of the trip although these are not steep or sustained and in the heartlands the cycling is invariably on the flat. We have vehicle support throughout the trip and stay in good quality hotels and resorts, some of which have pools. Average daily distance 99km/62miles.
