A new wonderful and colourful cycling holiday through Laos and Cambodia. Arriving in Bangkok the capital city of Thailand, we then head off to cycle in Cambodia and Laos to experience an insight into SE Asia at its most traditional. An exploration by mountain bike of the magnificent Angkor Wat temples is definitely one of the highlights of this cycling holiday. Then, cycling north on backroads from Phnom Penh, our cycle route follows the Mekong River through rural Cambodia, passing many delightful villages and pagodas. Cycling across the border into Laos, we overnight on river islands, cycle to look for rare freshwater dolphins and finally bike across the picturesque, coffee-growing region of the Bolevan Plateau to our cycling journey’s end at Pakse. Returning to Bangkok we have a night out on the town to enjoy this vibrant city and reflect on an amazing journey by mountain bike through Laos and Cambodia.

SEMI-SLICK ADVENTURE. This trip is suitable for regular and reasonably fit bikers and for mountain bikes fitted with semi-slick tyres. Mainly biking on dirt roads and quiet backroads, the route is not technical but there are some climbs and a couple of long cycling days to offer a challenge. We will stay in comfortable hotels each night, some of which have pools. Vehicle support always available. Average 84km/52 miles per day. We start and finish the trip in Bangkok. With two nights included in Bangkok, there’s plenty of time to explore the sights and sounds of this exotic city.
