Portugal Undiscovered SingletrackA corking coastal and mountain biking holiday in Portugal. Check out this recent discovery biking adventure in the provinces of Alentejo and the Algarve of Portugal as we bike the area's first class trails and enjoy the laidback Portuguese lifestyle. From the beautiful seaside village of Vila Nova de Milfontes, the biking is on exhilarating coastal tracks cycling through cork oak plantations, before heading up into the Algarve hills. Here, amongst vineyards, olive groves and eucalyptus forests, we bike wonderful trails and enjoy spectacular views of the Algarve coast. Linking whitewashed hill-towns and taking advantage of the Portuguese 'Right to Roam', most of this cycling trip is off-road. Biking between the Atlantic coast and the hills of the Algarve this bike trip offers a great variety of excellent cycling terrain. If you like your biking warm and dry and exciting trails to bike all to yourself, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by unspoiled Portugal and this cycling adventure holiday in the Alentejo and Algarve.

Ride Guide

FAT TYRE ADVENTURE. Our intention, when setting up this route, was to create an exciting trip which would explore the best trails of the Alentejo as well as the hills of the Algarve. These trails are barely known outside of Portugal and are amongst mountain biking's best kept secrets. To help achieve this we recruited the help of experienced local riders. The resulting holiday is aimed at regular mountain bikers, who are looking for excitement, as well as warm, dry trail conditions. It is not really a suitable trip for beginners. Some of the climbs are reasonably sustained and many of the descents are fast and furious. Whilst we do have vehicle support throughout the trip, the support cannot always follow the riders on trail, due to the nature of the riding on tracks and singletrack. Apart from the regular trail kit that you would take on any day ride you will not be required to carry any luggage. Average 55 km/34 miles per day.
